Sinag, an organization by the 29th batch of Paranaque Science High School, offered help to residents in Fourth Estate and Valley 1, Paranaque City by organizing a community pantry from May 1 to May 2.

This is in light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases in Paranaque and to follow the successful movement of ‘Maginhawa Community Pantry’ founded by Ms. Ana Patricia Non on April 14.

Their preparation started on April 22 by promoting and calling for donations to be able to help families affected by the COVID-19 health crisis.

The organization collected an amount of 5,881.55 pesos and was able to cater and reach 320 families during their first and second days.

“It’s fulfilling to help other people, but analyzing the situation deeper makes me sad. Their stories broke my heart. They are poor before the pandemic, and they’re becoming poorer as time passes by, that juggling multiple works is still not enough to survive.” said Yesha Guzman in a statement, one of Sinag Community Pantry’s Organizers.

Following this, they also stated that each one of us could help in our own ways and people need each other as their own support systems. It takes one to help another.
